What advice do the dead have for the living? You’re about to find out.

Half-way through their set a comedian dies on-stage adding them to the ranks of a small group of ghosts who live in the theatre. Inspired to go about their post-mortem days scaring patrons and forming a musical troupe, the arrival of the comedian brings tensions boiling to the surface between the ghouls and sees the return of an old enemy that they would much rather forget.

Tone Death is the next all-original comedy musical from the team that brought you Pining For Affection: A Tree Musical. After near sell-out seasons at Melbourne Comedy Festival and Melbourne Fringe in 2018, this team of emerging creatives are back and ready to build on their impressive foundations.

Tone Death is a continued exploration and disruption of the stereotypes we’ve grown to expect from characters which are usually in the background says Dylan Marshall (writer and Director). Composer and musical director, Earl Marrows says he is excited to draw on the iconic horror film musical genre and apply it to the world of music theatre.

Motivated by a love of laughter and horror films, Marshall and Marrows combine these seemingly opposing genres with ease. With their signature brand of absurd humour, witty puns and catchy tunes, Tone Death is sure to leave you in stitches.
